Backroad Stories
Well this week I experienced something new, I broke down while I was on a camping trip…in the middle of nowhere.
There were a few factors that did align in my favor - luckily I had service to call for help, luckily I had a solar panel charger to charge my phone stashed in my car, luckily the tow truck driver was able to make it the 15 miles on backroads to find me (just for one hell of a hefty price), and luckily I have a wonderful mechanic of a boyfriend who has been by my side to help me navigate this ordeal.
Riley & I sure had a heck of an adventure during the 24 hour period of being stranded 150 miles from home with no mode of transportation. I sat in the woods for half a day waiting for the tow truck driver to find me, we then made it to the mechanics where I essentially camped out in the parking lot until they could fit me in. Only to find out that they couldn’t fix it and I was yet again, stranded. I then had to tow it the remaining 100+ miles to home late that evening.
But here I am, nearly one week later - I just picked up my vehicle this morning and we are back on the road! It turned out to be by far the most expensive camping trip I have ever been on. To be honest, I’m not too shocked at this last week’s ordeal…it is still 2020!
